The baby won’t stop crying?

I am babysitting a baby for a couple days, and I just got him. He just woke up from his nap, and I changed his diaper, and he was happy. But he started crying, so we walked outside with him, and he was fine. But I have homework, so I have to set him down. I’ve tried toys, play thing, bouncer, even sitting with him. Nothing works. Any tips?

See if he is hungry you didnt mention that you tried that yet. The baby might not know what he wants, and therefore just wants to cry. Could be because you are not the childs parents and it could be uncomfortable. Try rocking the baby and singing to him. If you have the parents number(s) try calling them to get ideas from them, afterall it is their child and they should know him/her best. Good luck

Strap him in his chair and put him and the chari on top of the clothes dryer and turn it on. He’ll probably fall asleep with the whir of the motor. MAKE SURE HE CAN’T FALL OFF and stay there while you do your homework.

Feed & burp him, check if he’s too hot or too cold, if he’s old enough to crawl, let him crawl or lay on the floor next to you. Or try his pacifier and a nap. Sometimes trying lots of toys and activities is over-stimulating – try dimming the lights and staying quieter. If all else fails, let him cry for a little while (15-20 minutes). After that, he’ll probably be tired enough to fall asleep. (Also, if he’s around 6 months old, he may be teething – if so, Baby Tylenol!)

How old is this baby?
Babies need to do everything more than everybody else. instead of sleeping at night and being awake in the day, they sleep for two hours, awake for two hours then sleep for 2, wake for 2.
so a typical day that you have goes like this
sleep
eat
do stuff
eat
do stuff
eat
do stuff
sleep

a baby is little and has shorter day. They…
sleep
eat
do stuff
eat
sleep
eat

eat
sleep

all day and all night. The younger the baby, the faster the cycle goes. So start checking on what the baby needs. Hungry? Wet? Hot? Cold? Too loud? Needs play? Tired?
If you have thought of and tried everything you can, try this.

Put the baby in the crib for 5 minutes. dim light and a blanket one small safe toy.

If the baby is still screaming try the checking again. then try putting the baby down again. keep going from one to the other until the baby is just too tired and falls asleep. Then you should get some sleep. If you need back up, call a friend to watch the baby for an hour and go for a walk.

Hope this helps.

hey he might just miss his parents. that happened to my mom he’ll get use to you i would try walking around he might be afraid if you set him down right now. well good luck.:)
