My experience with Amazon has been phenomenal! Every item purchased came on time or before in excellent condition.
I purchsed the Leap Frog Leapster 2 as gifts for my grandson, nieces and nephew.
They are still enjoying and learning with every touch – never had a problem with anything.
The best thing since sliced bread no hussle and bussle of the crowds can shop at anytime and it be delivered right to my door how convenient is this.
I recommend Amazon to everyone
The preinstalled games are “Dragons to the Rescue”. The first game is just a digital art game — simple but innocent. The second game is the reason we took it back. It is supposed to be a learning game where the Dragons collect crystals and answer questions to build words or numbers. But at the beginning there is a mean storm cloud that evily says, “I HATE the sun and all the pretty colors.” He goes on to laugh wickedly. I’m sure this game is considered “tame” to many other computer games, but frankly, I was shocked knowing this was a Leapfrog product. I guess I assumed the pre-installed games would be Tad and Lily and Professor learning to spell or something like their videos. I called customer service to see if the games could be removed, but was told they can’t be. My husband and I both thought it was inappropriate for our five year old daughter. We will be looking for something else.
I never write reviews of products, this is my very first good or bad, and I have nothing good to say about this toy.
This toy is absolutely pathetic. I will NEVER buy anything from this company again. I have spent almost my entire Sunday trying to get the toy connected over their website, and it just plain doesn’t work. Why? Because they are just to darn cheap to spend money to host their site on a decent server so that the online tools ACTUALLY WORK!! They lure you in with this great marketing ploy of an online community to do all these fantastic things, and yet, their software is just HORRIBLE!
On top of that, they include absolutely NO INSTRUCTIONS in the package. They force you to their website, which, if I haven’t mentioned DOESN’T WORK!!
PATHETIC – PATHETIC – PATHETIC!
The only reason I gave it one star is because the cartridges they make you buy to get the toy to work did occupy my 4 year old for an hour or so.
I can’t say enough about how disappointed I am with this company. My daughter was SO EXCITED to get this, and after wasting my entire day I had to break her heart and tell her it just doesn’t work. Just visit their website, it takes FOREVER to load. Don’t break your kids heart with this piece of junk. BUY SOMETHING ELSE!
We ordered this Leapster for our four year old who was SO excited since his last one broke. Immediatly after turning it on he was directed to the pre-installed game which seemed entirely inappropriate for kids. It’s a dragon game with a very scary villian saying he ‘hates’ the sun and has a scary laugh. I know this may not seem so bad to many parents but to us it was awful. We try hard to not expose our kids to ugly monsters, dragons, and evil and were dissappointed to see that Leapster would have this as a standard game on their Leapster. We have returned this Leapster and are going to just order the other version so as to aviod this game.

Dangerous toys! I have one of the older Leapfrog Phonics Learning Systems with individual letters. Once they replaced the letters because the small magnets fell out. When the magnets started falling out again they would not replace or give me a credit for the toy. They just would give me a 15% discount on their website. Mattel recalled toys with small magnets but leapfrog knows of this deadly problem and is doing nothing. The toy letters have magnets with no covering over the magnets. Leapfrog should be recalling this item even though they “no longer manufacture it”! I personally am boycotting their products. Please Boycott their products until they start recalling and replacing their dangerous toys.
Children can still die from this toy and Leap Frog is doing nothing!
