Most teachers spend their own money buying supplies for classrooms and students
Parents and students are not the only ones scouring the Sunday advertisements for back-to-school deals. So are teachers. In addition to decorations for their classrooms, instructors are buying basic supplies — paper, pens, glue, crayons — to cover students who don’t have them.

LCS preschool needs five more students
The Le Mars Community School District has five openings available for preschool students for the 2010-11 school year. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Carl Turner told school board members at the board’s Monday meeting 16 applications had been received by the July 16 deadline.
