Ask him if it’s okay to call him that first, if you feel hesitant.
Call him something simple like… sweetie. It might not be appropriate for you to do that. Even that your his girlfriend his friends are his friends. It’s different. So I wouldn’t recommend you calling him that. 🙂
that is big no no that will remind him of his brother every time you call him that. his friends get by with it because more than likely they knew his brother, but you may need to find something else to call him.

No. You need to come up with your own name for him. It will come to you just let it and don’t stress about it.
No I wouldn’t go that rout. That is something for his boys. Something will come to you just give it time to come to you.
How would you feel if it was your brother that passed a way. I lost a brother he very young. We still call my brother Duck. It does not bother me. But we are all different so it might me best if you talk to him. Let him know that you do not want to say something that might bother him.
