Do you think that kids having things like computers and video game system make kids more inactive or does having these things help them learn about technology, and keep them more safe, for example Cell phones.

I think that it can be bad, Are children are becoming over Weight because of the Video games and so on. I think that if used with restriction than they can be a good resource. But today kids just don’t want to go out side as much.
When i was a kid i had a nintendo, the very first one to come out, with duck hunt! Any ways i only played for maybe an hour at a time and not every day. I would have much rather been out side playing with the neighbor kids.
With that said, times have changed so much that we can’t let are kids just take off out side like i did as a kid. The average distance in the late 80’s that i traveled from my house was about 1 mile. I was 8 and 9 years old. I would go to the store alone and never thought twice about it.I also lived in a very small town of about 900 people. Today we can not allow are kids that free rain. To days culture is to let the tv babysit are kids! while i think this is harmful in so many ways this is the reason we have to test are 9 year olds cholesterol.
Parents are lazy, they do not want to get up themselves and go out with there kids. so to answer your question i believe that it is harm full on so many different levels that i can’t begin to list them all.
As far as cell phones, they are good in the respect that you can keep in touch with your teen. Or if there is trouble they can call for help.
My son gets good grades and is very smart, i told him that if at the end of every quarter he was at the top of his class (he usally is) that for his next birthday i would get him a cell phone. There are stipulations of coures.
