Like fathers, should mothers be required to support a child that she rejects and dumps it at an ER Room?

When a man has no desire to have a relationship with his child, he is still required to support it. Should this be the same for mothers? If family services learns who the father is of a child dumped at an ER Room, he can be ordered to reimburse the foster care system until the child is adopted.

And no, he has no assumed right to the abandoned child. He has to file for custody, going up against government paid attorneys with the resources to run up his attorney fees.

From where do you base this information?

To answer your question – no, a mother should not be required to do as you said. The point of that is to allow the child to live and not be abandoned and die.

I don’t know if what you said about fathers is true, but if it is, I am not sure why . . .

My ex paid me child support! However, I still like the fact that the government goes after fathers of abandoned children. Men just don’t respect the family unit any more. We don’t have the right to have sex and walk away! That woman who abandoned her child was alone! Probably had been rejected by her lover as soon as he found she was pregnant. At least she was thinking about the child’s future. No, I hope this kind of thing continues!

Up until a point at which parental rights are legally revoked or a child is a legal adult, I believe that BOTH parents should be held equally financially responsible for any child they parent. If anyone, man or woman, has a burning desire to avoid parenthood then they know how to avoid it. Don’t have sex and don’t trust birth control. If two people choose to take the risk, they should bare the responsibiltiy. Why the hell should my tax dollars pay for someone else’s lack of good judgment? Of course they should pay. Whether they want to be involved in the child’s life or not.
